<title>You Are Going To Love This Kid - Paula Kluth</title>
<description>
Dr. Kluth will be presenting on promoting inclusive schooling and exploring positive ways of supporting students with autism. Most of her work involves collaborating with schools to create environments, lessons, and experiences that are inclusive, respectful, and accessible for all learners.
Dr. Kluth is a former special educator who has served as a classroom teacher, consulting teaching and inclusion facilitator. She works with teachers in K-12 schools, pre-schools, and early intervention programs. She also regularly works with family organizations and disability-rights and advocacy groups. She is the author of- A Land We Can Share: Teaching Literacy to Students with Autism You're Going to Love this Kid! Teaching Students with Autism in the Inclusive Classroom.

<title>Bridges To Adulthood - Dr. Peter Gerhardt     June 30, 2008</title>

Dr. Peter Gerhardt has over 25 years experience utilizing the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis in support of adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders in educational, employment, and community based settings. He is the author or co-author of articles and book chapters on the needs of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the school-to-work transition process, assessment of social competence, and analysis and intervention of problematic behavior.He has presented nationally and internationally on these topics.
Targeted Audience: Parents, Educators, Vocational Support Providers, for persons with Autism/Severe Disabilities.

<title>Pre-K/K SIRI Modules</title>
<description>
SIRI Integrated Curriculum to be held on the following dates: 4-12-08, 4-21-08, 4-28-08, 5-5-08, 5-12-08, 5-17-08 from 9:00 - 12:00 Noon at Hopewell Center, 5350 West New Market Road, Hillsboro Ohio 45133. **Note on Saturday dates: 4-12-08 &amp;amp; 5-17-08 class time will be 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Audience - These modules are open to the entire early childhood community including childcare staff, family childcare providers, Early Childhood Educators, preschool special educators, kindergarten teachers, administrator/directors, and supervisors/coordinators. These modules are not appropriate for a train the trainer format.
ODE and ODJFS certificates, CEU's, and College Credit are available to participants that COMPLETE a module
Goals &amp;amp; Objectives - Build participants' capacity (knowledge base/skills) around critical components of early literacy concepts and skills, Develop participants' ability to support children's learning through intentional teaching strategies designed to support children's successful language and literacy learning and development, Integrate delivery of early literacy content with Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards and the Preschool Core Curriculum.
Use research based text materials including Ohio Early Learning Content Standards, A Way of Knowing:Observing and Recording, and the International Reading Association Core Series as the organizing structure for the modules. Make connections between competencies needed for Ohio's children and the knowledge, skill base, dispositions and effective practices educators need to support children's emerging understanding of critical early literacy concepts and skills. Utilize faculty and qualified professional development instructors to provide consistent information linking research with effective teaching strategies and practices. Provide a forum for sharing experiences and ideas for the integration of content across the curriculum and throughout the public/private early childhood community.
