Differentiated Instruction

Participants will be able to use item analysis to differentiate instruction, Identify students' learning styles and have several methods in which to address their learning styles, Apply the high yield strategy of identifying similarities and differences to various units in their classroom. The final day, principals are encouraged to attend to see how DI will look in classrooms as well as discuss instructional rounds.

Using and Acquiring Digital Text to Support Universal Design for Learning

This presentation focuses on using digital text to support Universal Design for Learning (UDL). A very brief overview of UDL will be provided and then OCALI will address the many ways digital text can be modified to support the diverse needs of the students in our classrooms. Several resources for obtaining both copyrighted and public domain digital text will be provided. We will discuss emerging trends in the use of digital text such as eBook readers and open source textbooks. The presentation will conclude with a review of tools and websites that incorporate many aspects of UDL.

Going Places with a Standards-Based IEP

Ensuring Accuracy with Get It, Got It, Go (GGG) through Observation and Mentoring

Training ensures program administrators/teachers use accurate GGG administration procedures, conduct accuracy observations of staff administering the GGG and learn how to provide support and feedback on effective assessment strategies.

This study group will also focus on enhancing the teacher knowledge base of effective implementation of the Early Learning Content Standards, individualization, and Universal Design in order to meet the needs of all children served in the class, and particularly children identified with a disability.
